Year End Celebration 2018

Ice-cream sundaes, hands-on projects, and more await you this coming Friday at the SKETCH year-end celebration. Come, enjoy, and pre-register for the 2018/2019 session.

Kids will have the opportunity to: ▪ Demonstrate their knowledge through fun games ▪ Share their artwork ▪ Create something new for their community ▪ Pre-register for next year (no deposit necessary) ▪ Learn more about the organizations we partnered with this year ▪ Vote on projects for the coming season ▪ and have lots of fun. I promise! In order to participate in our game, each family or group of friends will need to download Kahoot onto one device with internet access. (And before you worry, I can assure you that it is free, there is zero set-up time, it needs no player account or personal information, requires only minimal space, and it can be easily deleted after class.) We are going to play with our artwork!

Children who wish to participate in this annual show&tell may bring one piece that they created this year  to share with the group. Those who wish to show their artwork but do not wish to speak will not be pressured to do so. Year-End Celebration

Hands-on clay projects, ice-cream sundaes, a special guest speaker, and more await you this coming Friday at the SKETCH year-end celebration. Come, enjoy, and pre-register for the 2016/2017 session. I am so excited that we will have Robin Clark from the Andres Institute of Art sharing with us this year. AIA's annual international sculpture symposium is not only fascinating but entirely approachable. I know that hearing about it is going to be a highlight of your evening. To wrap up we always do a quick review of each of the artists studied, and community service projects worked on over the year. Children who wish to participate in this annual show&tell may bring one piece that they created this year (in or outside of SKETCH) to share with the group. Those who wish to show their artwork but do not wish to speak will not be pressured to do so.

What to bring: ▪ No craft supplies are needed for this month's project. Everything you need for your clay project will provided as our gift to you. ▪ Optional - an ice cream topping to share (Ice-cream will be provided. If you have special dietary needs feel free to bring a substitution.) ▪ Optional - one piece of artwork to display Guests and new SKETCH students are welcome to attend this class. We always have a wait-list, so pre-registration is an easy way to insure that you don't miss the 2016/2017 session!

Wrap-up Party

***Next week's session is going to require a bit more planning on mom's part so please read this as soon as possible!***

What a fun year we have had together!

Time for our wrap up of all the artists we have studied. Our next meeting will be focused on reviewing what we have learned and making a timeline so that the children can see how these artists influenced each other. This would be a great time to invite Dad or Grandma to see what your little ones have been up to.

The children will be given time to "present" their favorite piece of work to the group, so please allow them time at home to go through their creations. This does not need to be something that they made at Sketch - it can be any piece of art that they are proud of. (*I have a timid child, so I understand that this may be very intimidating to some children - this is not a requirement and children will not be pressured to do anything they are uncomfortable with.)

For this session you will need to bring:

• A SNACK to share (no need to stress - Oreos or apples count!)
• Your child's favorite ARTWORK
• One timeline for each child - I highly suggest that you print this on cardstock
• One copy of artist figures for each child (regular weight paper, color printing would be nice)
• One copy of artists' works for each child (regular weight paper, color printing would be nice)
• Tape
• Crayons
• Glue stick
• Scissors
