Jackson Pollock

Is it possible for an person who throws, splatters, and scatters paint to be a master artist? That is the question we will be considering during this month's study of Jackson Pollock.

We will be making our own splatter paintings, with a bit of a twist using frisket resist.  To complete this project each student will need:

• Scissors - 1 per student
• straw - 1 student
• Inktense pencils (note these are ink pencils, not watercolor pencils) - set of 6 - can be shared
• #4 round brush Princeton Neptune synthetic squirrel - 1 per student
• Watercolor art board  8x10"- 1 board per student
• Frisket masking film 9x12" - 1 sheet per student
• Spray bottle - 2.5 oz -1 per student

You may also want:

• long point pencil sharpener $6 - this is the BEST colored pencil sharpener I've ever owned 
• Small package of baby wipes or paper towels
• glue stick
• Crayola supertip markers - set of 10 - can be shared (for practice sheet only)

Please note, Inktense can STAIN clothing.  I highly encourage students to wear short sleeves, old clothes, or bring smocks for this project.
